Treatment areas

Botulinum toxin (Botox®, Xeomin) is a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium A. Here at our office, we use Botulinum toxin to help with TMJ dysfunction, bruxism and types of orofacial pain including headaches and migraines by relaxing the muscles associated with facial expressions or facial pain.

Areas most frequently treated with botulinum toxin are:

  • Glabellar area of frown lines, located between the eyes

  • Crow’s feet (lateral areas of the eyes)

  • Forehead wrinkles

  • Radial lip lines (smokers lines)

  • Head and neck muscles including the muscles one typically uses for teeth grinding: Masseter muscles & Temporalis muscles.

Face muscles

Botulinum Toxin is diluted to a very controlled solution and when injected into the muscles with a very thin needle, it is almost painless.  The procedure takes about 15-20 minutes and the results can last up to 3 months. With repeated treatments, the results may tend to last longer.

Please contact us for a consultation with the doctor to evaluate if this is an option for you.
